The Global Collectors Map: Stop No. 1 – Mundwiler Juwelen

Fine timepieces are intensely tactile, mechanical objects. To truly honor the engineering on your wrist, you need to step inside spaces where that same precision is respected. This core philosophy forms the backbone of our new monthly series, the Global Collectors Map. Over the coming months, we will take you inside the world’s definitive retail sanctuaries, bridging historic brick-and-mortar watchmaking landmarks with global digital curation giants.

It is only fitting that our first stop begins where our physical retail footprint was first established.

The Winterthur Chronicle

To find our first destination, you travel just onto the outskirts of Zürich to Switzerland's sixth-largest city, Winterthur. Here, at the historic Kasinostrasse, sits Mundwiler Juwelen.

While the family’s watchmaking roots stretch back across generations, the Winterthur boutique was officially established in 1955 by Alfred and Rosmarie Mundwiler. Alfred was a highly trained watchmaker-rhabilleur who brought an uncompromising standard of technical repair to the region.

Today, that meticulous independent spirit is carried forward by the next generation, Ursula and Donato Trivisano-Mundwiler. Celebrating over 70 years of operation, the boutique completely bypasses cold, corporate retail scripts. Instead, they focus on long-term education, guiding collectors through premier portfolios like Omega, Tudor, Breitling and Rolex while providing access to an expansive gallery of premium straps and tools.

A Historic Wholesale Milestone

When AIS Collective was a young Swiss brand with a new vision for watch maintenance, the Mundwiler team immediately recognised the necessity of material preservation. They became the first-ever physical retailer to stock our products in Switzerland, and one of our earliest retail partners in the entire world.

Today, that mutual trust has evolved into a hallmark collaboration. Inside their Winterthur showcases, they stock our complete suite of care tools, including exclusive, co-branded editions of the ChronoPen and GemPen. For their team, teaching a collector how to safely lift sweat, oils, and grime is an essential extension of the watch ownership ritual.

If you find yourself navigating the Canton of Zürich, we encourage you to step inside their boutique, meet a team that has kept time for seven decades, and see a piece of our history firsthand.

Until our next destination,
Anna
